Replaced my Alternator - lost a piece

Changed my alternator today on my 2007. Pretty straight forward and easy after watching a couple of you tube videos, this one being the best:

How to Replace the Alternator on a 2002-2009 Toyota 4Runner with 4.0L Engine - YouTube

Probably took 1.5 to 2 hours.

I dropped the plastic cover for the positive terminal on the alternator into the abyss. I can't find it.

How important is this cover?

It's very important, if any piece of metal ever connects with that terminal and grounds out to metal on the vehicle it will short out the electrical system possibility doing some major damage to the battery, alternator, electronic devices/EMC, etc., blowing multiple fuses and even worst melting wiring harnesses, any of the above can be very expensive to repair!

I would highly advise to either get another cover or somehow insulating it so it doesn't ever get shorted out.

Just to share some peace of mind, I lost that rubber piece that covers the positive about a year ago after I did the Big 3 upgrade, I haven't had any issues but the risk exists.

So of by any chance you get a part number or any aftermarket part, do share.

I called the steeler and they ordered me one for 16 Bucks.

Pricey, but after sweating my nuts off with replacing the alternator, I don’t have it in me to search for it.
