Ooh, I’ve never seen one like that before... usually they look like the spark plug extension things, but have catalyst material in them. This one is stealth so even a visual inspection wouldn’t catch that... How does it actually attach to the sensor tip, though?

You tap it over the Sensor. Sensor Must be OEM to Work. Its a Tight Fit. It will Never be seen on a Visual inspection as it is in the Y-pipe on the Sensor. Very Stealth. No O2 Simulator or Spacer. Very Cool.

Very slick! Sure wish I knew about this before I did the spacers. It’s working perfectly now, and went through emissions testing fine, so probably not worth messing with at this point, but good to know about for future projects as this seems to be a big problem as vehicles age. I’ve seen “mini CATs” before, but they are just a bit of catalyst inserted into spacers, which would still be a problem for visual inspection. This is the perfect solution, especially for those who have already spent a ton of money replacing CATs and other stuff, yet still have the CEL.

Do you only need one of these? and does it go into the rear o2 sensor?

Depends if you’re throwing codes on both banks or not. I’d do both sensors at the same time, regardless.

Thanks for the input! I'll have to look into getting two of them since I have the Doug Thorley headers.

soooo can these be used for other vehicles as well? specifically my mother in laws 2010 BMW X5 Diesel that literally fails emissions every 2 years and requires some 2000 dollar part to get through every time!

So this is all that's needed to trick the ECM into thinking the sensor is working properly even with no cats?

It doesn't "trick" the o2 sensor. The mini cats provide a legit obd2 compliant cat signal which makes your computer believe that you have brand new cats installed.
I guess that is still a form of trickery, but the signal is not simulated at all, it reads as a perfect catalytic converter in techstream.
