How dangerous does this sound?

I just need an extra 1/4" of compression to get the Daystar lift out of the fronts easy. They were a pain to get in, and I couldn't get enough travel in the suspension on my own to get the three top bolts out.

What if I wrap a few coils with a cargo strap before I jack the car up to give me that room?

Does that sound stupid and crazy? I don't want to remove control arm bolts if I don't have to.

That doesn't sound too dangerous.

I would remove the UCA through bolt or the ball joint bolt to allow the LCA to droop down a little further and help move some stuff out of the way to help access and remove the shock. It really doesn't take much time.

Right. The straps are good for 600lbs-ish, and with the clutch-effect of being wrapped to save just a hair of travel, it would fail right away, or not at all I imagine.

Yea, brake calipers, and the UCA bolt pops off with a hammer tap. All those bolts have been on and off a lot recently so it goes quick.
