New tires suggestions?

Ive seen a few threads on tires but mostly old so looking to see what recommendations I get now.

Right now I was looking at Pirelli all terrain plus not sure if I want LT or not.

I really don't need A/T just want a good tire as mostly driving around with 3 kids in the car.

All around good tire in all weather without breaking the bank. Seems a lot of tires are out of stock at the moment including the All terrain plus at sams the XL version.

I picked up a set of off road wheels so once I pick the tires ill do my brake upgrade also.

I would personally look at a mild AT with a 3 mountain peak rating. Such as Toyo Open Country AT3, Cooper Discoverer XLT etc

I'll check those out. Was originally gonna stick with an all season but I think I'd rather have something a bit beefer.
The atp is supposed to be for 90% road 10% off and does have the 3 mountain peak rating. I'll check out the other 2 and see if anyone has in stock.

I was gonna stick with Sam's Club because prices are a bit better and the instalation package is a good price with road hazard.

I've been shopping as well.

Based on my research and experience, And what you're asking for.. Id also recommends the Toyo AT3, Falken Wildpeak at3w as mild and capable All-terrain tires go.

On the more aggressive end, I'm looking at Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT

All 3 of these recommendations are Mountain snowflake rated.

I currently run Nitto ridge Grapplers, They have been good to me through some pretty extreme conditions but they have weakness's with severe snow/cold and as they age, they become louder and not good in wet.

In my opinion, no need to go LT, stick with a passenger tire. The Cooper AT3 4S, Hankook Dynapro RF10, and Bridgestone Revo 3 would be mild AT tires. I consider the Falken AT3W (I have this) and Toyo AT3 more in the mid-range aggressive AT tires. Those were all tires I saw on the sam's club website. Those are all tires choose between last time I needed tires and I went with the Falkens because they were a little more aggressive and I got a really good deal on them. If you want to look at sizing up just one size there are usually more tire choices in 265/70/17 vs the 4runner's stock 265/65/17. The difference isn't much and you generally have more choices and every once in a while a better price. Good luck

I very recently put new Toyo Open Country AT3 tires on my stock wheels and chose to go with P-metric vs LT tires. You can see why I chose them (with pics) and how I've found them after 1,000 miles here.

I am about to buy new tires, and I selected the Cooper AT3 4S; it is the one the Cooper website recommended for the 4Runner. I considered the LT, but the Load numbers say the LT is a 10-ply equivalent while the 4S is a 4-ply equivalent; the LT Load index says it is rated for 3086 lb while the 4S is 2469 lb per tire. Another website says the LT is particularly suited for F250 and up. I decided the Cooper AT3 4S is totally adequate for all-terrain and snow use at a reasonable price.

Thanks for the replies. Based on prices I'm going with cooper and Ill like the white lettering also.

Sams club has hem for $20 more each then BJs but BJs doesn't have 4 in stock smh. I think I can get Sams to price match if they will Ill go with those.

Im def going with 265/70/17 vs 265/65/70 but here comes the fun part. Sams and BJs usually have an issue putting different size tires then what came with the car so Im gonna try just bring the wheels and see if they will do it.

I don't get all the fuss but the rules there are crazy. Hoping I can get this done without any issues and at Sams as I have the plus membership and will get a little back from them also. Wish me luck!

Then I have to tackle replacing brakes, fixing leaks and figuring out what that weird squeak/ rattle is coming from middle of the car is when I shut it off. Fun times.

I'm gonna go ahead and replace all fluids again before winter for good measure might do that after the kids are back in school though.

I love my Falken AT3w's, they are quiet and should wear well.

Then again maybe i'm biased because I work for Falken get a sweet discount and only paid $87 per tire

At $87 Id get those too! haha I ended up with the Copper AT3, had them put on the new rims yesterday.

Little ticked the manager who was gonna give them to me at cost wasn't there so I had full price, Im hopeful he will take care of that when I call him.

So far $850 into it.
