Interesting issue - dome light fuse keeps blowing and the display mpg+clock is wrong!
Ok,
This is the first time this weird issue has surfaced in my '03. I keep blowing the 10amp dome light fuse, which operates the Homelink buttons, dome lights, and the alarm. So, I'll need to do a systematic troubleshoot to see if it's a bulb that's being flaky or an intermittent ground short at each of the door light switch.
But, WTF is going on with the MPG display and the clock now running slooooooow! :-) I reset the time and it just keeps falling behind. The MPG starts out at 21mpg then slowly drops to the actual MPG. Normally, it just shows my crappy MPG and goes up/down by a little bit.
Are the two related somehow? I've uploaded the dome light elec diagram.

Any recent mods electric mods done? Last time I blew that particular fuse the culprit was a blub that made a false contact every now an then, can't remember if it was one of the map lights or at the running boards but at least you have somewhere to look now.
As for the mpg lie-o-meter display cant say I've payed attention to it, but the I do notice the clock runs behind a minute or 2 compared to my kenwood hu.

I had this issue. You have a short somewhere. Mine was in my running board lights.

update
Ok, I have one clue to report and that is the mpg/clock issue. Seems every time I start the engine, the clock resets to 1:00pm and MPG becomes 0.0. Let me look at the EWD to see where the memory power is coming from.
Agreed with above, I must have a short somewhere in the dome light circuit. I did add a short LED strip on the hatch (five years ago) so maybe a strand or two of wires are creating the short.
