First big DIY for a beginner

Decided to bypass the AbS bracket for now and use a 19mm wrench to get in there. It was a bit rough, but got the UCA nut off. Now I am trying to figure out how to pull the long bolt out on the passenger side. You can pull it almost out but then it hits a metal line going to the radiator. Tried bending the line slightly but still wouldn’t fit. Don’t wanna bend that line anymore than I have to.

That is absolutely hilarious about the upside down shock that is totally something I would do.

I appreciate it! I am in the western mountains of NC… what bout you?
Yea, it's amazing what little things you can goof up on, even when you're trying not to. I'm near Rocky Mount. Work in Raleigh. I love the mts (beach too). Anytime we go, we usually go to the Boone area. I've been mountain biking in Pisgah, but haven't made it that far west in quite a while.

EDIT:
Not sure if it matter now but I found an old thread where someone loosened a hold-down on that AC line blocking your bolt on the pass side. Mentioned here:

Oh nice, Boone is a pretty area. I’m. I’m not too far from Pisgah. Thanks for the link. That’s what I had to do, but got it in there finally.

It took nearly 3 days, but got both upper control arms done (with some assistance on the second one).

Rusted, stuck-on bolts and one of the UCA bolts were the biggest problems, other than that it was pretty straightforward.

Learned a lot and thanks to everyone’s help on the forum.

It already drives better and squeaks less

Next up will be the lower arms and shocks.

Edit: Pittman ball joint separator was a must have. Be careful that things pops like a gun shot.

Happy to say this project is finally done. Got the lower arms and front rear shocks on today. A newly made friend that is also a mechanic was a huge help in this.

Toughest parts were one seized control arm and top rear shock nuts.

Thankfully we had a sawzall, grinder, and air hammer to assist.

Unfortunately this did not resolve my squeaking sound that happens when going over bumps and dips. Any idea what else could be causing it?

Not yet, but that will be the first on the list of suspects!
