2013 Corolla Entune Radio installed in 2006 4Runner

I just installed a factory Toyota Entune radio from a 2013 Corolla into my 2006 non JBL 4Runner. These radios came in the 2012-2013 Corollas. Everything plugged up, the only thing that did not was the reverse wire for my backup camera. Overall all this was a very easy install and I love the factory look. This radio comes with XM built in, HD radio, navigation and Entune. I can play music from my iphone either through Bluetooth or usb. I ran the USB jack into my console beside the factory Aux jack. My Aux jack still works, but there is no reason for me to use it now. In order for Entune to work you will need the VIN number from the car the radio came out, create a Entune account and a Entune app on your smart phone.
To install this, you will need from Toyota
PT546-00120-AD Antenna harness
PT546-00120-CH 28 pin conversion harness
86190-0C020 USB-mini jack
PT233-47100-WH USB harness
PT546-00120-US USB conversion wiring
PT546-74120-MC Microphone kit
On the USB wiring, you will need to trim a tab off of the connector to make it work. Very simple.
For my XM, I bought a FRA3M Toyota XM adaptor cable to allow me to use an aftermarket XM antenna with this radio. I bought these from TSS-Radio. You will need to trim a tab off of the connector like the usb connector.
Vais Technologies FRA3M adaptor cable
XM antenna NGVA1
For the antenna, you will need these. They adapt the two 4Runner antenna wires into one.
Scosche Mda-B Micro/Delco Antenna Adapter Tip
Metra 40-UV43 Male to Female Motorola Antenna Cable
I bought a backup camera kit from Amazon for a Corolla that came with the correct harness and plug for this radio. I have seen these kits on Ebay and other places on the internet as well. This is where I had to locate the reverse wire. It is located at Pin #10 of 16-pin plug on front of dash fuse panel. It is also in the driver’s side kick panel, but it was easier to locate at the fuse panel location. It is red with a yellow stripe. You can check it with a voltmeter to see if you have 12 volts present in reverse and nothing when you are not in reverse. I bought a wire with the correct pin from Autoharnesshouse.com to allow me to just plug the reverse wire into my connector, they also have a lot of Toyota wiring harness and info about the backup camera.

Do you have factory steering wheel controls? And do they work?
I wonder how well this would work in my 2007 with JBL/Nav

My steering wheel controls still work. You can install this radio into a 4Runner with JBL, but I believe you will need to bypass the factory amp. I remember seeing several places that were selling a box to do this or either convert the JBL signal. The JBL amp uses digital signals that are not compatible with regular radios. If I am remembering correctly.

That's awesome. For JBL equipped models, you can use a PAC TATO module. Are there options on that radio to change the screen and button colors?

I do not think you can change the colors. If so, I have not seen it.

The total cost was about $400. The maps app work as well. I think the navigation would work without the entune function turned on. I ordered the Toyota parts from Toyota of Cool Springs. They give a nice discount off of list price. Toyotaonlineparts.com also has some great prices.

anyone know the difference between this radio and the scion T10015? Seems the scion one is a pioneer, is this one as well, or is it just the same form factor?

It is made by Pioneer as well. The only differences that I know of is that the screen comes up Toyota and it has a built in XM receiver.

I was doing a quick bit of research and it seems the audio adjustments are a little more refined in the scion units?

think the internals are the same?

i would think one could pick one of these up a little cheaper than the scion units? or am i mistaken? really would like one of these units in my truck to replace my e7009.

I am not sure about the internals, but you can get them much cheaper than the scion unit as I guess not many people know about them. If you did not want the apps and navigation you could get one really cheap.

Reading this thread I must ask if the NAV unit is built in or does the module need purchased?

The radio has the gap under it looking like it uses a module but the pictures of the radio I've seen on eBay doesn't show a connector that would attach the NAV module.

Having XM built in is worth getting one for the 97 Limited Puppy Hauler. That will eliminate the add on XM receiver.

The nav unit attaches to the bottom of the radio. You can find one separate or one with the nav unit already attached. That is what I did.
