Hello Lads,
There was a slight problem with brakes and I changed the fronts. Upon doing so I snapped the brake hard line going to the caliper. This halted production of all four since the store was closed.
Next day found a brake line 8 inches. Please get a pipe bender. I know you say you can do it yourself, but $4.88 will add up when this was also with caliper replacement.
My suggestion but brake line and then just get a flaring tool. The flaring kit at AutoZone is not too bad on price. They have fittings there too! Just get some thread tape.
During the back bleeding to get it out of the shop it blew the back line after I attempted to bleed it. Made more brake line bended, but realized air got in my abs.
Luckily there is a code scanner with an auto abs bleed option. Key on set up press brake it will auto bleed. Saves you a trip to the dealership and also saving yourself from taking the dare to bleed them with another buddy manually.
Final thoughts:
Youre going to snap bolts replacing the back brakes line hangers. Just drill tap and use any bolt that matches to the hex size. I believe it's 12 or 14mm. If rusty get backout sockets and replace bolts. I would suggest getting a induction tool. Heat these bolts. If anyone has done exhaust work I'm sure that would be good during a manifold job. I have attached the tools and links for your 4runner.
