Dash lights and wheel speed sensors

I had a shop replace both front sensors (I bought a 4 pack off amazon) along with some other maintenance. Prior to taking it in I had all the yellow lights on, VSC OFF, TRACTION OFF, ABS, VSC TRAC all lit up. The new sensors only turned off the ABS light and now I have an airbag light on ??? (Start up, only air bag light, then drive 30 seconds and the 3 yellow lights come on)

I told him to scan it but he says nothing shows on his snap on scanner and a Toyota dealer has to scan it ???

Anyone know what might be up?

Prior to doing the sensors I would be driving and ALL dash lights would come on and the speedo would go dead, then 5 seconds later they would go out and the speedo would come alive again. Intermittent battery light flickering etc

The brake light switch can throw the 3 lights on, there are 2 switches built into it. I assume the computer must compare them to each other. Mine is currently intermittent with the three lights, seems to come on more when it rains. It didn't happen for a week after I replaced that brake switch so maybe the aftermarket one is just junk or maybe I have a sensor somewhere failing.

@Flybynight I had a very similar situation. Driving (on road too) normally one day and all the lights come on, TRAC/VSC/etc.. group and the BRAKE light, and the airbag light, and the speedo died.

For the airbag light, I thought it was the clock spring and I changed it TWICE to no avail. For the TRAC/VSC/Brake combo I thought I had a bad caliper and speed sensor in the rear (per the codes that were pulled). I ended up just taking it into the shop for some other work I had scheduled and mentioned this to them to look at it.

TRAC/VSC/etc and BRAKE solution: my rear ABS wires literally decayed and just fell apart, so replacing those with OEM and a bleed on the rear calipers fixed the BRAKE and TRAC/VSC/etc.. lights.

Airbag Light Solution: The shop (which is highly trusted in our area and is a Toyota specialist) found that a common problem for the airbag light is a bad connection on some of the wire connectors. He said the light went off after he found the related airbag connector underneath the passenger seat, looked to make sure its still good and added electrical conductor spray/grease, plugged it back in and fixed!

I hope some of this information helps. Mostly wanted to share the airbag trick as I’ve never seen that mentioned on here before, even when I was searching about it to fix it myself.

The air bag codes cannot be read by a normal OBDII scanner. The safety codes require a different scanner. My guess is that Toyota didn't want people messing with air bag related connectors etc.

I bought a scanner and pulled the codes.

Air bag = B0101 "open in squib circuit d" which a quick search shows can be cleared by simply unplugging the yellow plugs under the two front seats for 5 min, then re-connecting. I'll try it.

Yellow dash lights = C1 290 "zero point steering sensor" which can be reset by jumping a couple pins in the OBD2 plug, I'll give that a shot as well.

BOTH seem very common in the Toyota world according to my searches...
