T-Case I used Mobil-1 at whatever weight was called for. Front and Rear I used Chevron Delos because its full synth and cheap.

Transmission I used Maxlife back when it was available from Wal Mart. I could get it 20$/gallon instead of 25+/qt. If you have a Toyota dealership locally that prices WS reasonably its worth getting the real stuff. However, around here dealers charge an arm, leg, and first born for everything.... So Maxlife it is.

I got WS for around $11/qt but only because I found an online dealer that had it for that much. I think my local dealer wanted like $16/qt but they were willing to price match

Is it ok to mix different differential oils? I had my front and rear differential fluids changed at a Toyota shop about 2 years ago. I have to replace my two front axles and therefore will loose some diff fluid in the process. I have some Mobil1 Synthetic and Valvoline Synthetic 75-90 fluid. I don't know what is in the diff but is it ok to top it off with synthetic (ie. mixing different fluid types)?

Diffs, transfer case, and engine are all Amsoil. Transmission is Toyota WS.

Work fine for me.

Sorry to drag up this old thread but I recently got an 08 4R and wanted to change the diff and transfer case fluids.

I’ve had a gallon of Mobil 1 Delvac 75w90 sitting in my basement for a couple years. Is Delvac ok to use? I’m not sure how it’s different from the standard M1 75w90. Can they be mixed?

I’m assuming that the age is no issue.(?)

Thanks!

For this type of thing I would absolutely, positively use OEM fluids. There may well be aftermarket ones that work fine but for a few $$ why risk it?

Valvoline full synthetic in t-case and both diffs. Almost fifteen years and no issues. Yes, it’s been changed several times in that span.
