What wheels fit my '04 Runner?

My dealer promised me a deal on used wheels but he's not coming through. I'm also talking to a few guys about buying their wheels but most are long distance deals which I want to avoid.

I'm going to keep my eye out locally but would like to know what to look for. That is, what wheels, other than '04 4Runner wheels fit my truck? I'm looking for a winter set so they don't have to be anything fancy.

Since most people list used wheels according to the vehicle they come from, what trucks have the same fitment as the '03-'05 4Runner? Do previous gen wheels fit? How about Tacoma or Tundra?

TIA,

Henry

I think you're looking for the bolt pattern. the bolt pattern dictates how the wheel studs are spaced from each other. You'll also need to have the right offset i think. neither of which I know so I can't help

Just did a quick search and the bolt pattern is 6 X 5.5

Different wheels will have different offsets so you'll have to figure that one out yourself.

I've been in the same situation. I want a 16" set of winter wheels and tires (because there are a lot of 16" truck tire choices), but there aren't any that fit the 4th gen 4runner. Mine is a 2003 Linited with the factory 17" wheels.
I don't know anything about getting spacers to accomodate the lug pattern and offset? Would this post be better in maintenance?

Thanks. I didn't know about the bigger Sport brakes. I have an SR5. Since they are the smaller brakes, I'm going to assume Sport wheels fit.

Bolt pattern and offset, I'm familiar with. However, when someone is selling wheels, they usually say - "99 Tundra" or "99-02 4Runner'. Most people won't even know the offset. That's why I've been searching for some sort of definitive cross-reference. I think I will try a tire shop.

Also, I'll take my spare off tonight and check for offset numbers.

Thanks,

Henry

I'm looking to sell my factory 16" wheels with Bridgestone tires (about 20k miles) if any of you all are interested. I would imagine that they would fit fine coming off an 04 SR5.

The easiest way to figure out whether or not you can fit 16" wheels is by measuring the front discs of your 4runner.

If the disc is over 13" then you will need a 17" wheel. This is regardless of what model you have. Obviously all the SPORTS model comes w/ the 13.3" disc so you're all kinda screwed. Those that have Limiteds may have the smaller discs so please do measure them.

Like I said, this is the easiest way to figure out what size wheels to get.

IF you're looking for aftermarket and can fit 16" wheels, you want to get atleast a 16x8 (so you can fit larger tires) with backspacing of 4.5".

Good luck

Stock size is 265/65R17. You can step up to 265/70R17 with somewhere between no rubbing to minor rubbing. Depending on tire brand and your ride height. My truck rubbed on the fender liners on stock wheels with the 265/70R17

I have a set of 17x8-0 offset for winter tires, 265/70R17, and they're pretty much flush at the fender line. The sidewalls "poke out" but not the tread.
