Hidretrofitkit headlights recommendations?

I need to replace my headlights. I was thinking of doing the conversion to 2006-09 projector style lights, but I don't really like the gaps they leave next to the grill. I was thinking of just biting the bullet and getting a proper set of OEM 2003 headlights as the quality is unimpeachable. But the projector lights really do throw a much better beam. A direct replacement I found is at

2003-05 Toyota 4Runner Headlights Custom LED Projector

... has anyone ever dealt with this company? I like the design because they're identical to 2003 headlights except with a projector light in the low-beam position.

The website is really odd though, making me wonder if something's up. And I don't care to incinerate $600.

That seems good, but they don't provide info on which projectors they use which I don't like. If your ready to spend 700 I would spend 100 to 200 more and get a reputable company to do a retrofit for you. Something like lightwerkz or check out hidplanet for a reputable company.

seems like just h1 projectors.

id go with another company that has more experience in building headlights,
lightwerkz.net does a great job, and they are proven to be the best.

ask them to use some d2s projectors, d2s bulbs have more options, and with d2s bulbs you can go with the known osram and philips brand.

projecotrs wise, if your sticking wit the 03-05 lights, they can put anything in there, i splurge with oem projectors like rx350 or s2000 or tl. the morimoto and nhk projectors seem pretty good now for aftermarket.

another guy whole does lights is bxbuild, some users here seem happy with them.

choose projectors that uses d2s bulbs over the h1. lots of novice retrofitters are always flipings headlights with the h1 projectors, easy to work on since it can thread in the bulb hole.

BX Built makes some kickass LED retrofit parts, or you can pay them to do the build themselves.

Highly recommend do quad-bi-LED's. You'll have 4x low beams and 4x high beams. You won't need any additional lights other than ditch lights or fogs out front.

honestly, you want to have 2 different type of projectors if doing quad setup. that way you can choose to run a specific pair, not all projectors are created equal.

Well their 3.0's are in the low beam location and their 2.0's are in the high beam... So, got that covered...

Being that they're both Bi-LED, they all function as low beam and high beams when needed.

the only bi-led i see is the 3.0 projectors, the 2.0 is just a high beam projector only.
