06+ LED Headlight Replacement

Looking for a good brand that makes non-fading clearcoat (at least lasts some time) and fog resistant (sealed as best as possible) LED headlights to replace my current headlights.

Ebay has some mediocre lasting headlights. Looking to spend 200-300 for headlights that will last awhile.

You're not going to find any aftermarket headlights that actually have a clearcoat applied to the lenses. None of them. As you might guess, this also means that they won't last as long. That's one of many reasons that they're so cheap. If you want something that's going to be high quality and last, buy OEM. It's really that simple.

As for the lights you shared the link on, cheap Chinese junk.

I put some TYC brand headlights on my 4Runner about 4 years ago. I used black caulk to provide extra sealant around the edges… but only where it wouldn’t be visible with the hood closed. It’s have quality projector bulbs… nothing too fancy or too expensive. It’s been about 4 years, and I am extremely impressed. The provide good illumination and they have a very crisp, sharp cut off to the beam pattern, with a slight color shift right at the line.

I don’t know if they are clear coated or not, but I am very happy with them and highly recommend them. I forgot where I bought them or what I paid (sorry).

If you are interested in clear coat, you may want to also consider going to a window tiny shop and paying the to apply a clear protective film. They offer some really nice products. Good luck!

I sanded my headlights down with 600 grit and hit it with a few coats of Duplicolor clear coat. It came out pretty good.

I expected it to yellow with how hot it gets and no shade/garage but surpringly it hasnt yellowed.

pro tip. avoid the machine car washes at all costs. theyll destroy the clear coat on the headlights, hood, roof and spoilers

heres an after pic, 4 coats of clear after 600 grit, nothing else

As far as the fading.....out some high quality sealant on the lenses such as Optiseal or some ceramic coating and keep them protected. That alone will go a long way!!
