Any recommended 255/85r17 tires

Any recommended 255/85r17 tires??? Right now I have 285/70r17 BFG A/T's ...but in the future when I'm back in the market was thinking of getting some equally tall but skinnier tire .....any suggestions?? It's my daily driver so is like to stay as close to an A/T as possible.

I think 85's won't fit. Even 80's will rub with a lift.

I think the size you are looking for is the 255/80/17. The 255/85 only comes in a 16 inch rim size. The only tire I know of in 255/80/17 is the BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain

Here are some pics

So 255/85r16 = 33.3"....&255/80r17 also = 33.3"....I was looking at the 120 forum & somebody mentioned cooper discover s/t....in that size ( 255/80r17 ) & those are pretty close to my BFG's A/T tread pattern...I looked on coopers site & it said none in stock but they could "possibly" order them....any1 know more about these specific tires??

Haven't had any experience with the Cooper's, I have 255/75/17 BFG KM's on my 4Runner right now. How much lift are you running?

I have the 3/2 toytec spacers lift ...but I'm already running 285/70r17s ( same size right? ) & I've also chopped my body mounts & pushed my fender liners forward too

Ok, cool. I have the OME 3" but haven't chopped the body mounts yet and love my 255/75's

I'm running 255/75/17s as well, like them and I can fit a full size spare. Interested in upsizing but keeping them skinny next time I need tires.

With my lift (3/2 OME/Toytec/Bilstein), I had no rubbing at all until I installed wheel spacers. Then I had to move the fender liner forward a bit.

I am also wondering what options there are for a tall skinny tire. I had 33x10.50R15 on my tacoma and loved them in the BFG A/T. I dont think a 15 will fit on a 4Runner, but would love to fit a set of those on my 04. What options would there be for a tall skinny tire with about 2.5/2 of lift?

I am running the 255/85/16's now and really liked them until I put the rig up for the winter. More feedback from the trails later this spring but they behaved very well on the road. I preferred to stay skinny and there is a lot of good info out there to support that. (tire is BFG KM2)

I think if you are looking to stay in that size range on a 17" wheel then I would recommend the 255/75/17. That will be essentially the same size (33") as I am running now and they will fit with some trimming and removal of front mud flaps.

Should note that I am running with a suspension lift of 2.5 ~ 3.0"

i think im gonna call a few tire places tonight just to see if this mythical Cooper Discover 255/80r17 even exists...ill let you guys know what i find out these would be an A/T style tire opposed to the BFG M/T ....because i know i dont really want to run a M/T on my daily driver for the reasons im sure everybody already knows

255/85/r16 tires

I am also looking at this size tire and just found Mastercraft came out with the courser cxt in 255/85r16 and 255/80r17 looks like a slightly more aggressive AT tire
