305/70R17 fitment?

Anyone try to fit these under a 4th gen? Likely going to be my next tire. Also if anyone is running this size, post pics! Not yet ready to go to 35s lol

a 305/70/17 is pretty much a 35, at least a 35 equivalent.

plenty of threads on making a 35 fit. What lift are you running? Get ready to do some trimming, chopping, cutting and beating. They can work, but you'll need to trim bumpers, body mount, pinch weld, etc.

I am on a 3" lift with a 1" bodylift with lots of trimming and still have a bit of rubbing on the firewall with a 315/70/17. Can be done, and if you don't wheel hard it may work with less trimming. Wheel backspacing will play a big roll to gain some clearance. I have a lengthy build thread with the tire fitment/progress.

I have Fox 2.5 coilovers up front and All Pro 3” springs out back. I’m not opposed to cutting and welding, was just thinking 305/70s may be slightly easier to fit than a true 35 or 315/70. If the work would be pretty much the same either way then maybe I will just go to 35s now haha

If thats the case then yea you may as well just go larger.. the amount of effort difference between the 2 is going to be minimal. There isn't a clear cut guideline of how much to cut tht I followed... just test fit and see what areas are impacted, trim and retest.

You could go with a skinnier 35, I'm not 100% sure on the size but I have come across a couple of threads on a skinny 35 that made it a bit easier to fit and not rub the frame rail. If you dont already, you'll also need extended bump stops in the rear to keep it from tearing into the door flare too much.

Pics! Not too much more trimming needed compared to the 285/70s I had before. Stoked on em! Definitely a meaty tire for the 4Runner haha
