Nice thread and sweet build!
Probably the only person on here I've seen that's had their truck since new, impressive.

Since you're looking at fabbing your own links/arms take a look at the metal cloak bushings, they ride awesome.

Thanks man. I still love my truck as a much as when I first got it.

I probably won’t fab new upper link arms but rather just gusset some stock arms and replace the bushings with some from Super Pro.

Bumper chop in anticipation of building a tube bash bar for the rear. Added some black edge molding to the cut edge.

Black Edge Trim Automotive... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086MQQLZ1...p_mob_ap_share

Relocated the trailer light plug-in utilizing an existing bracket (spare tire rest I think) and made another using some 1” wide flat stock.

Ordered the Marlin Crawler HD LCA Frame Brace Kit. RIP Marlin

It’ll probably be a few weeks before I get these burned in.

Will do. SuperPro has a 20% off sale right now so they were 66 bucks free shipping. Still need a few pieces and parts before I do this. I’m thinking about spindle gussets and want to do inner and outer tie rods at the same time.

I read through eve Rey single post on this thread. It’s great to see everything you’ve done and I like that you provided Orta numbers for the mods you’ve put on. That’s always a big help for people that want to do the same mod

Poly steering rack bushings helped a lot for the "steering wheel bounce" on mine but I still had a clunk that I could not find for the life of me. Highly recommend upgrading the OEM steering rack bolts to 1/2" Grade 8's at the same time, got rid of all my front end clunks. I only had to drill out the frame a little bit to make them fit too.

Tons of wheeling lately. Pretty much every weekend since Christmas lol.

Oil change at 144536 on the ODO.

Fixed one stripped skid plate mounting bolt by drilling and retapping to M10 1.25
I’ll eventually do that to all of them so I don’t have to swap out sockets for one bolt.

Been gathering materials to start on the gas tank skid.

DIY Shade

Summer arrived too soon here in the Mojave desert. Shade is rarely abundant. I’d been thinking of making this for a while and finally pieced together enough items to get it done.

Many of the parts used I had on hand and only had to buy a few things to make it work. I had to scab together two pieces of 4” pvc pipe. I wish it was one continuous piece.

6’ X 9’ waxed canvas tarp
Approx 7’ of 4” pvc pipe(two three and a half foot sections glued together with a pvc slip coupling)
Two 4” pvc caps
Pvc glue
8’ X 1/2” galvanized conduit
Two 5/8” shaft collars
Two 1/2” plastic snap in pipe caps
Two extension poles (repurposed from an easy up awning that the wind destroyed)
About a dozen 1/4” carriage bolts, washers and nylock nuts
Four 1/4” pan head bolts
1/4” tee nuts and button head bolts
1” X 1/4” stainless u-bolts
Inch and a half X 1/4” bolts, washers and wing nuts.
1” X 10” slotted metal strap(repurposed from old work truck shelving kits) for brackets
Thirty feet of 550 cord
Four heavy duty tent stakes.

DIY dash mount

Got tired of holding my 2-way radios or having them flop around in the cup holder while on the trail. I really like the design of the F3 mount but being a cheapskate I couldn’t stomach the idea of 125.00+ for this item. After making this I completely understand why it is at that price point. Dude makes some really nice products. I styled mine after his design as I haven’t seen another like it for the 4th gen. Everything for the bracket was sourced from my garage. I had to purchase a few longer screws to bolt it to the radio and bought the actual Ram Mount and Slip-grip 2-way bracket off of Amazon.
My head unit is narrower than the factory radio so all I had to do was trim the plastic filler pieces that attach to the side of the radio. I used 3” x 3/16” steel and some slotted brackets I had laying around.

Shade? What a disappointment. I thought it was a missile launcher. :-(
