I asked earlier in this topic if you had a link to the shifter knob you purchased, but instead you posted a item number for your second choice, is there anyway you could post a link or item number for the one you bought, please?
I looked through many, many search pages/results on eBay for the one you got and never found it, I did find your second choice but it's not what I would like to get as a replacement.

Have a TRD knob in my white 4runner, have a black leather with marbled black piano wood in my red 4runner to match the factory wood trim.

The trd knob take a little bit of work to get it to fit though right? It’s a little too long for the 4th gens

I made my own. I’d had this 8ball kicking around for quite a few years after I sold my table. I was going to drill it out and epoxy a metric insert into it but it has a metal core that I was able to tap out. I had a little chrome piece with a set screw that fit below it to cover the reduction on the lever itself.

The grip I used was a mini lock on made for kids BMX bikes I think. Machined an adapter out of delrin to clamp it onto, pretty easy! Though I have been considering putting that design into CAD and 3D printing them.
The Getta Grip adapters look much better though being made of aluminum.

I'll try to remember to take a pic tomorrow. But I don't think I have that issue.

Running a 5th gen TRD shift knob minimal mods to fit, rubber washer and a couple nuts.
