Question Snow Chains

Hello,
Have a stock height 2003 Sport, V-8, full-time 4x4, BFG 265/70/17 TA KO2 severe snow rated tires with 8/32 tread depth.
Decided to get some winter snow chains. Want a quality product that won't fail in use.
Undecided if I want cable or chain link style and brand.
Been reading a current discussion on the 5Th Gen Forum with some good replies.
Not sure if there is a different rear tire clearance for fitting to my 4Th gen.
Have driven I-70 passes in heavy snow and slush with 4x4 and big-rig chain requirements, so I am familiar what my truck can do.

Would appreciate any suggestions as to brand, style, clearance issues, etc.
Thanks
..

I went overboard and bought Norseman studded tire chains. They have some more economical versions on their website. Rear only, no fronts due to brake line, UCA, and abs wire clearance.

They shipped fast and they came in a nice cordura bag. The bag was large enough to fit the tensioners I bought as well as 4 trimmed down 2x4's so that I can drive the tires onto the 2x4's keeping the chains completely free so they install easy.

Thanks for the post.
I am inclined to get the cable style chain and the tensioners shown on the site of your link.
I have never had chains so I am not clear as how the 2x4s help in installing them.

For what its worth, I use Les Schwab quick chains on my Sport 2wd. They do build up with snow and hit the factory mud flaps. If the mud flaps were not there it would not be an issue at all.

Mr Tom,
You lay the chains out then place the short pieces of 2x4 between the chains. Then you drive up onto the 2x4s. Now that you are on them the chains are loose and free allowing for quick install. If you just drove onto the chains without them then you'd have a harder time installing them.
