What is this thing that fell off?

Guys, I was driving along and I heard clunking, I think this part fell off the bottom of the 20084R. One side of the U clamp has a rusted screw, the other side is missing any screw. Can someone help me identify what it is? Is it a top or bottom heat shield or some protective cover. I am hoping I can just put some nut and bolt through the U clamp to the cover piece or tack weld.

Looks like the catalytic converter heat shield. Hopefully no one tried to steal it

Well, it fell off when I was driving. I dont hear any excessive noise or rattling. I assume that's a good sign. Would that be a top shield? OK for driving around town (It's cold up here now in MA)

Its your catalytic converter shield. Mine started ratting a couple years ago. Put on a new worm/hose clamp.

Your top half might still be ontop of the catalytic converter. You can pull off or re-secure.

I lost mine like three years ago, doesn't seem to make a difference other than you need to be mindful when parking in dry grass so you don't start a fire.
