I wonder if the 1st gen sequoia transfer case/transmission combo will work on our 4runners? On our 03 sequoia it has a manual transfer case and part time 4wd. Its a 4speed, same as the early v6 4runners but mated to the v8.

HC, by chance is the frame in good rust free condition, are you willing to part with it, i've been looking for a v8 4x4 frame to replace mine.

Checking in to see if you can confirm the driveshaft spacer bolt pattern.. I measured mine twice when doing the fj transfer case and still ended up with the wrong bolt pattern.. curious to know if you can confirm what actually worked for you..


Also, just a thought on the front diff install. .if you plan on running a large tire, or if you just want the peace of mind, I'd suggest gusseting the passenger side diff mount on the two side to keep it from failing down the road. Not a very common thing, but I've seen 3 guys report failures within a 2 week span a few months ago so I decided to pull mine off and weld on some 3/16" steel plate on either side of the long run.

I swapped in a manual t-case last spring on my AWD V8.
So I have to give you props for putting together a good write up.

Turning the wrenches and doing a write up is no easy task.
