Codes Codes Codes Codes....

Started up my car this morning and almost every warning light came on.

Check Engine Light, traction control, VCS Off, VCS Trac all on.

I went to Auto Zone to get the codes checked.

P0455 Evaporative Emmision Control System Leak Detected (I am hoping this was just the loose gas cap)

P0441 Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow

C1201 Brake Boost Sensor Circuit Range/Performance

C1233 Malfunction in ABS Control System

C1241 Low Battery positive voltage or abnormal high battery positive voltage (I put in a new alternator and battery this past fall. When the dude check the battery and alternator he said everything looked good.

C1290 Malfunction in zero point of steering sensor

It's a 2007 4runner 161,000 miles.

The only unusual thing I have done lately was jump start my wife car last night.

I also changed the brakes this past fall did not encounter any issue.

Any ideas on where to start looking?

Do a quick search for How To Perform Zero Point Calibration here on the forums That should clear up the C1290 Malfunction in zero point of steering sensor code at least.

I would suspect that this code flurry could be caused by your battery voltage dropping during the jump start. Make sure you battery is charged, clear the codes and see if they come back.

Well, I did not do a thing and all the warning lights went away. Magic.

You say you didn't do anything....not even get any gas/fill up?

If you got gas maybe when you put the gas cap back on it sealed better.

I did get a fill-up and made extra sure to make sure the gas cap was closed. I just found it odd that the codes auto reset without me having to do it manually.

How low on fuel were you?

I couldn't imagine a gas cap throwing all those codes at once, unless you were (maybe) very low on fuel, and potentially starving the motor.

All the lights came back on this morning. I topped off the tank last night.

I am thinking its the gas cap so I threw a 16 dollar Advanced Auto Parts cap on it.

Hopefully this does the trick.

Highly recommend you get an OEM cap. Aftermarket caps don't seem to seal as well. I got my OEM cap for $20 shipped.
