Yes indeed the Everstart was rated high in that video....BUT that video was made in early December 2019....and the Everstart he tested was made by Johnson Controls not Clarios and Johnson Controls was out of the battery business for 8 months at the time that video was made, the battery he tested probably was one of the last Johnson Controls batteries Walmart sold or very close to the last one.

I think the battery business is going to go south for a couple of years because of the pandemic. Clarios and Stryten (formally Exide Batteries) are having a hard time getting back into production. I'm sure quality is going to take a dive. Trojan Manufacturing, can't keep up with the demand for golf cart batteries. They are hard to find in stock. If you look at CCA on a 27F from Clarios they are all 710. The only difference between brands is the stickers they put on them. Look for the newest date code to get a fresh battery. A2 is this month A=January, B=February and so on. 2=2022. L1 would be December 2021. Look for the hot stamp in one of the corners of the top cover, that's the true ship code not the round sticker they put on latter.

The best thing about buying a battery at Walmart is you can always find a Walmart.

That and they seem to stock the ones I usually need. Plus the turnover seems pretty quick. I hope the new one I bought lasts.

Maybe folks can keep updating this thread so we can know who to stay away from. There's an Interstate store I drive by often but their battery if like $50 or so more than what I paid at Walmart.

Battery replacement

I have had my 05 4 runner since 2008. I just had the 3 rd battery (during the 14 yrs I've owned it) replaced 3 days ago. I live in Florida and the heat is also harsh on battery life expectancy. I like interstate and Duracell. I rather spend a little more but not have to worry about it for a while. Duracell battery was $156 but the auto zone was $129.00.... my experience has been great with these 2 brands. So roses for valentines. I got brand new battery.
