I'm looking to purchase a new set of wheels and tires in the spring. My 4Runner is currently stock. I'm looking to go slightly up in size and I would like to keep the impact on fuel consumption as low as possible. I don't do any serious off roading asides from the occassional dirt road to go mountain biking and skiing. For the tires, I think I'll go with the 255/75R17 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac, which weights around 41 pounds. I've searched for light weight wheels and these are the ones I'm considering at this point:
- VOLK RACING TE37XT 17x8.5 17 pounds
- Konig Six Shooter 17x8 20.5 pounds
- Konig Countersteer Type X 17x8 20.5 pounds
- TITAN 7 T-AK1 17x8.5 20.6 pounds
- ADVAN RGD-2 17x8.5 21 pounds
- SCS F5 17x8.5 21.7 pounds
The GRAM LIGHTS 57DR-X also looks interesting, but I couldn't find the weight.
If it wasn't for the price, the Volk Racing TE37XT would be my first choice... However, I'm not looking to spend that much on wheels, considering how much I paid for the 4Runner. My second choice is the Konig Countersteer Type X, which is very similar in style to the TE37XT. They're pretty cheap and are the next lightest wheels I could find after the Volk Racings.
Are there any other light wheels available for the 4Runner, that would slot somewhere between the Volk Racings and the Konigs in terms of weight and price?
