$20 Amazon Budget Sprint Booster/Pedal Commander

Hello All,

I picked up one of these just to try out. Was pleasantly surprised and thought I would share.

Amazon.com: GZYF Car 9 Drive Mode Electronic Throttle Controller Auto Gas Pedal Booster Compatible with Lexus IS220 IS250 IS350 LS460 LX570, Land Cruiser Hilux Innova Mark X Prado Tacoma : Automotive

It basically does the same thing as your Sprint Boosters and Pedal Commanders, but I could not bring myself to spend $200 just for throttle response. Installation took 10 minutes and was cake.

I have a 4th gen V8 with Doug Thorley headers and this little gadget really increased the fun factor. I found the 1.9 setting is a nice increase for street use. I can't say that the ECO setting does anything to save gas though

FYI, I have no affiliation with this product whatsoever.

Happy motoring!

-Bill

What year is your 4th gen? The US market 4Runner isn’t mentioned, but it does mention the Fortuner (4Runner in some markets) 2006-2016. I wonder if it only works with the vvti engines. It also says the plugs might be different in certain markets. (Maybe all 4Runner plugs are the same, all made in Japan?)

I have a 2007 V8 SE AWD, I would imagine the throttle/petal plug is the same for all 4th gens. Worse case, it's an easy Amazon return.

I just ordered one. Can’t beat that price!

I’ll post here about whether or not it works on my 2004 and possibly also review it.

I’ll be out of town for a few weeks, so I might not install it until mid-March or later.

Perfectly plug with the vehicle,no loose
Perfectly sums up a $20 part installed between the driver and the main control of the vehicle.

While I'm sure it'll work great until it doesn't; I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of the timing of the impending failure.

It’s 50% off at $20, and there are visually identical units on Amazon for as much as $72.
