LEDs in front directionals?

A little back story, my Limited has the front lights that stay on (DRL?) unless a directional is turned on then they blink. These things give fits at times and stop working which gives a fast blink on the directional. Looking around I see that this system seems to burn the bulb sockets in the trucks that have DRL. The good thing is replacements are cheap and easy to swap. My question is if I go with 3157 LED bulbs with the system work properly and not fast blink? I figured the LEDs would not cook the new sockets. Thanks!

Water gets In there (road stones, etc then rain, esp car wash!) eventually, and since bulbs are always hot/ on, they pop! Replace with LEDs as per bulb size and add a load resistor for hyper flash..(no hyper flash when headlights on tho) less heat/won't pop as easy. And/or, replace housings, cheap from china!
