best method to disable the cruise control?

i'm dealing with a few issues, and a new one is some sort of throttle hesitation. i believe it happened after i tested the cruise for the first time ever (one owner 2007 4runner, cruise never used). cruise seemed to work normal, but now i have this issue. would like to take cruise out of the equation. best fuse/relay or other to disable it?

The 7.5 amp GAUGE fuse runs cruiser control. It's highly unlikely cruise control is causing any of your issues.

I don't see how cruise-control would affect your throttle, but: is there anything else that's acting up/not at all?

Maybe try this reset:

The off button?

Only time I had this issue was bad fuel filter in a Dodge van I had.

off button, thats funny! i put in some concentrated techron. i looked in the fuse section, but couldn't locate the cruise. others have mentioned the throttle body, throttle pedal. i was wondering were the fuel filter is in this vehicle; i assume in the tank.

I hope its not the throttle body. Yes, on top of the fuel tank.

went through a tank w/techron: nothing to report

cleaned the MAF sensor: hesitation still present

cleaned the throttle body: maybe improvement

Our 4R's have a "drive by wire" system. Remove the throttle pedal unit and put a meter on the pedal outputs. Maybe the rheostat is gunked up or has a dead spot somewhere and is sending a bad signal?

so, still experiencing chronic but unpredictable drop offs. happens locally and at highway speeds. it coincidentally occurred after that initial cruise test. just yesterday, i was on the highway and decided to test cruise. could not get it to engage. i tried repeatedly, but did not function. light showed up on the dash.

is this throttle pedal unit down near the gas pedal. need to look up location and any service that can be done to it.

more fun: i've been pulling the #3 fuse under the hood often because it turns off the blazing stop lights. i forgot to put it back in this morning. started up the car, couldn't shift. the shift lock had activated. i pushed it down, and could shift. noticed for the first time the ABS light has turned on. i went under the hood and replaced the fuse. the ABS light stayed on all day. all other symptoms the same.

wondering if starting the car without that fuse in tripped the shift lock and ABS warning light.

as you can see, the #3 fuse is also swimming with many of the issues i'm encountering. thoughts?

weird, just look at that.

1) stop lights
2) shift control lock
3) ABS
4) TRAC
5) VSC
6) fuel injection (hesitations?)
7)trailerl lights (recent failure)

I wonder if there has been a water leak into there. You would probably have to strip everything out as a top down look just shows you the fuse holders, and water would go right to the bottom.

Either that, or the outgoing cables from that fuseboard have been damaged somehow.

i'm hoping all of these issues can be tied to one origin point, and a relatively inexpensive one at that. also hoping it is not the ABS module, as that is not inexpensive.

that said, i have never noticed any odd wetness in the fuse box area. what i have experienced over the past few years is an unexplained damp carpet only on the front drivers side. never seen any wetness under the dash, or water dripping anywhere. i've attributed it to some sort of drainage misdirection. i don't believe there is any wiring or electronics under that area.
