Like many others, I have a sunroof that is stuck open. I have read the posts in this forum, the
TSB and @
Fro-Runner's instructions for lubing the sunroof as preventive maintenance.
I have also read a few other posts from other users that have done the maintenance.
However, I see multiple suggestions for which lube to use:
- chassis grease
- not white lithium grease
- white lithium grease
- silicone grease
From what I read, Toyota uses white lithium grease. Some users recommend against using white lithium grease as it will dry up and causes the original problem. Chassis grease smells bad. Silicone grease doesn't smell, and it is water proof, but it's only good for rubber seals.
Have you done this maintenance, and if so, which grease have you used and what have been your results?
Thanks!
