Mainly check your fuses, specifically the 7.5a ALT-S that feeds the the "S" pin on your alternator, also doesn't hurt to check the Gauge and Ign fuses. I have had a LC200 that blew both the high-current and low current fuses and needed a new alternator; after installing it, the unit wouldn't charge because my dumb ass forgot to change the 7.5a fuse.

You win the prize, Buckaroo! I took the wire off and the nut, stud and the connection spade were badly corroded. And I neglected to put a washer between the spade and the nut when I put it back together on the timing belt replacement job.

I cleaned the back of the alternator, stud, spade connection with a wire wheel on my drill and put a new nut and washer on. Running 14.1 volts on startup with no dash light. I shut it off and started it up probably a dozen times and the light stayed gone every time.

Thanks all for the help!

Weird stuff with charging/battery also

07' limited 4x4 4.0L - was running fine, 13.6v @idle. Went to leave the following morning, nothing but clicks. Had 11v at battery. Jumped it off, idle was at 13.4v , replaced battery ( it was 5 years old) was fine. For two days , then same thing.
Went to auto zone bought a reman duralast with Lt warranty. Instatlled it, charged battery started the truck , it was putting out 11.8v running, and brake light was on, vsc, 4lo , basically all of them, no power at the ecu fuse under dash, no radio, nor climate control at all, I tested from the ground on the battery straight to the post on the alternator where are you bolt the cable that runs to positive side of battery, which should bypass and give me a reading straight off the alt right? Same 11.8v , wtf?? Any help would be appreciated , thanks.
