Programming my '08 4Runner Homelink

Hello,

Sorry if this has been covered already. I have searched in and other places. Every set of instructions I have seen and tried did not work for me.

I'm in Canada, my old house had Genie door openers and it programmed fine, don't remember it being this hard before.

Now my new house I have Linear door openers with a Learn button, so it has rolling codes I'm guessing.

Please help, or point me in the right direction to a good set of instructions.

TIA

Take a run through the Homelink programming instructions to see if your opener is compatible with the newer garage door.

I just got a new Liftmaster and it's no longer compatible with the version of Homelink on my 2008 4runner, so it requires a compatibility bridge (which I haven't tried, I just use the Liftmaster opener).

The newer garage door opener (2011 or newer I think) doesn't work with older car's homelink.
I am in a newer (built 2016) home as well and Homelink in my 2009 4Runner doesn't work with it. Look into "Homelink Bridge Kit" if you want to make it work. I still carry garage door opener remote in my car.

Thanks for replies on the bridge kit. I didn't know they existed.

I have two garage doors at my new place. Do I need two of these kits, one for each door lifter to get both doors working?

I personally don't have experience with this kit, but by reading the Q&A and reviews from the product, looks like you only need one to program both garage doors.
