If you were using a 17mm open end wrench on it then that's the size socket you will need...BUT it can not be a 6 point or 12 point socket, it has to be a 8 point socket for square head nuts or bolts, etc.
I'm having a hard time finding one to show you from here in America because we don't use metric as much as the rest of the world and 8 point sockets aren't all that common, but here one from a UK website so you can see it but it's not an impact socket, so you'll have to source one from your location.

You might be able to use a 11/16" 8 point socket, 11/16" is slightly larger than 17mm, just .4625mm bigger, so less than 1/2mm larger.
I can find a lot of 11/16" 8 point impact socket here in America, here's some from eBay.
