So I got hit and run by a U-Haul. Broke the DS tail light and crunched the rubber bumper. No body damage thank goodness.
First estimate is $1,350 for repair and thought that's at least $1k towards a metal replacement bumper.
It's been awhile since I've checked into these and would like to get some options/opinions of whats out there.
My list:
- I'd like to stay with the contours of the truck and not go with a tubed bumper.
- I tow so it needs a 2" hitch. I also have a portable 8k winch that's wired for front and rear that fits the 2" hitch. Winch rides on the front when wheeling in case your wondering.
- I'd like the bumper to fill in the qtr panel that the rubber bumper now fills. Damage to the OEM bumper negates it's use.
- Swing arms are optional. A spare with 33" tire fits in the OEM position now so I really don't need to put one on the back.
If you can provide any feedback if you've swapped your bumper out, it would be appreciated!
ETA: I've got Donahoe Racing suspension (now Icon) all around plus air bags in the back. Might have to upgrade the rear springs with the added weight of a metal bumper.
