rear wiper washer motor not working

my rear washer pump stopped working, so I bought a new one. installed it today and...nothing. so I swapped motors and it seems the wiring doesn't work. I checked the fuse for the rear washer and it's fine, even replaced it to make sure.

what should I check next? the front washer works just fine.

Have you tested the wires that connect to the pump to verify there's no power? I understand it seems there's no power since neither pump works but if your current pump is dead and the replacement happened to be a dud too...yeah, unlikely to say the least, but testing would tell you for sure that the wiring is the problem.

FWIW, I take the post above to mean checking the wires through the boot leading from the body to the hatch. Then I'd trace them from there to the pump to be sure there's no damage, crimping, etc.

I wish you the best in sorting this out. These are the kinds of things that drive me crazy.

I tested both the new and the old pump on the front pump wiring. they both work. so the old pump wasn't actually dead, just the wiring for whatever reason.

at the top of the rear door is the one that everyone talks about..

Kind of going through something similar myself, where my window stopped working when i changed the rear wiper arm which now also doesn't work. So my problem is different, but from what I've seen about the rear hatch door failures, that is a good starting point. Years and years of flexing, a single wire could've broke. I can say that with my frozen motor (wiggle's occasionally) the pump still works as it should. So in my case, I suspect the motor isn't parked fully. For you, sounds like a short.
