05 4RN Rear Upper Control Arms

I have an 05 sport where one of the brackets holding the rear upper control arm snapped off. I cannot get anyone to form one and weld it back on top of rear axle. I cut the arm off as it was just hanging. The other one is good. Are these really needed or can It be driven with just one arm? Is the solution for this issue is to get a rear axle assembly? Wondering if anyone has experienced the same issue.

I THINK you could drive it with one arm for a while, BUT I would keep trying to find someone to weld on another bracket. You might have to drive an hour or two to find someone, but I would definitely get it replaced.

If worse came to worse, you could remove the axle assembly and take it to someone who may be comfortable doing it off vehicle.

Call your dealer and ask them to refer you to someone. What would they do if they had such a problem?

Do you mean the 2 foot-ish tube on both sides that bolts to the axle then forward to the frame? If so I would not drive it except to maybe get it home if nearby. The axle will twist and is not safe like that.

How and where did it fail? The bracket rust off the frame? If so, you can have these types of things below welded on but more frame issues will be coming.

Pics are helpful.
