Hey guys, hope y'all like wat ya see, and if you have anything you'd like to see or suggestions, don't hesitate to let me know!
Background Named her Crayc, because mine and my brother's favorite childhood movie was Nacho Libre (cheesy and odd i know) and Jack Black says crazy that way, and i felt like it kinda describes me, and the car, so i went with it
CURRENT
STOCK
First thing I did was Spidertrax, as at that point there was zero possibility of lift in my future, and I didn't know whether or not I wanted to do the blacked out theme or not. An excellent first mod, very easy and great look.
Dad gave me crap one day about how low it was sitting, and since he wouldn't give in on the lift, I ripped the running boards off instead to show the body lines off better.
Got a good rain, so i decided to take it out to a new neighborhood development.
A little muddy:
Got stuck in 2 feet of Alabama clay, called a buddy with a mud bogger. This is after driving it back on the pavement for 15 minutes at highway speeds
Kinda sad, I know....
I finally gave in to my want to black it out, so started with the taillights! VHT Niteshade spray works great, just use some fine sand paper to WET sand the lights, and then apply however dark of layers you want until you get the right color for you!
And so next came the wheels and AVS BugShield in the blacking process! I considered several aftermarket wheels, but really came down to liking my stockers better than the ones I was looking at ordering! Got them painted (not powder coated, which is more durable). Mine still look great, no real wear to them at all, and love the wheel!
Day I brought it home from the shop, took it down to the river!

Next came the new DDM Tuning 3000K HID Fog lights, as well as the license plate lights! Love the cool white color with its slight bluish tint, really accents white license plate as well as body color
License Plate lights
Full array of Lights Comparison...
3000K DDM's after 2 seconds of warming up.
Fully warmed 3000K DDM's
Side note... I freaking love these projector's output. 90% of the time, even on dark roads I don't feel like I need my brights. When I use my brights, the night turns to day... My first truck was terrible lighting wise, so I really do appreciate the quality Toyota puts into our rigs from the start.
I stayed at this stage for a long time, trying to recover funds and really research my next few moves.
Blacked out the Limited and Toyota emblems one afternoon with Krylon exterior enamel rattle can after my buddy with the camaro above convinced me in 12 seconds that it needed it haha...
The Lift came next, as my Firestone's had finally worn out after 58 thousand miles (great tire, highly recommend to anyone looking for a great road tire) so I was due for an upgrade!
One last shot before putting it up on the jacks!
Installed Daystar and FJ Coils, didn't measure stock heights, but ended up at 39" front and 40" back, measured to middle of fender wells, AFTER tires. Slight change in ride, stiffened up a little, most likely due to FJ coils. Other than that she still rides like stock, minus a bit of pep due to tire rotational weight.
Install was a definite PIA due to multiple bottle jack failures trying to reinstall struts... Back literally took 20 minutes, half because we replaced the end link bushings, and that takes a little elbow grease because the bolts sit at an awkward angle.
Overall so happy with the stance, and now after moving fender liner forward, right tire only rubs the bumper at one tiny spot when it hits just the right awkward angle...
BEFORE new tires.
AFTER, with 275/65/18 Goodyear Duratracs
Have many different ideas about future mods, definitely going to black out headlight housing soon to finish blacked trim look, and since my girlfriend is 5' 4", and I dislike the stock running boards, definitely going to be looking into step tubes or sliders real soon, or i'll never hear the end of it from her haha.
Thanks again to countless people on here, and if any questions or suggestions, don't hesitate! Happy modding to all;)

How do you like your DDM Hids?
Is the beam shaky at all? Especially when off roading?

Love that color 4Runner, probably my favorite.
Are you planning to black out your head lights?

Looks good, I'd recommend checking into doing the LED swap for the interior. It's easy to do and well worth the investment!

The beam flows perfectly into my stock headlights, a perfect transition from yellow to halogen, definitely one of my favorite mods. Never had it shake or anything, the ballast fits perfectly snug into the stock housing!

yea man, blacked out heads are pretty close to the top of the list. With summer coming up i'll have a little more free time and hope to get that done!

Thanks Jeeves, it's really been a pleasure driving it. Perfect balance of pretty much everything I look for on the road

Oh you know. Still haven't gotten that bottle jack replaced haha, it's in the back cargo just sliding around all the time since it won't fit in the side anymore...

I've looked into that a lot, and know all the different things I'm going to get. Seen both Gaterose's and momo's swaps, and it really does complement the leather
