how loud of a tone do you want? borla is nice quieter tone. magnaflow is a nice, if doing a muffler swap, flowmaster super 44 and cherrybomb vortex is deep loud tone.
my borla dual tip cat-back which you cant find anymore dont drone as bad as the rest of the muffler i used before.

In terms of sound just something thats louder than stock but not obnoxiously loud. Im mainly looking for better performance.

I'm afraid more noise is about all you can hope for. I have a V6 and have read this board for 8+ years and have yet to see much of anything in terms of significant, measurable performance gains on the 4R V6, via exhaust or any other method.

I’ve been interested in the Overland series exhaust. Have a buddy with a new Taco who has one and it sounds nice. If you get it please update us, I’m interested how it’ll sound on a 4th Gen!

Get the Magnaflow. We put it on our 2008 v6. I'm considering putting it on the 2004 limited V8 also.

I would go with the magnaflow overland series for a full on catback exhaust system.

Muffler option, I would run the flowmaster delta 50, sounds great with no drone.

I’ve run the slow master 40, sounds awesome but the front is horrendous. So unless you have a good sound system I would avoid it.

I’m currently running a black widow venom 250 although I’m supercharged.

Do any of these re-route the exhaust out from under the transfer case? I have heard taco guys talk about that on their trucks but I haven't seen or heard any information for 4runners.

How did you change the muffler? isnt is welded to the back pipe so you cant just un bolt it and put a different one in.
