Rear hatch lift support slipped off

The rear hatch lift support on one side slipped off the ball... Looks like the top bracket may be bent? Has anyone else slipped off before and are your brackets naturally bent or straight?

It probably bent when it slipped off while closing it. When you buy a new set of hatch struts, they give you a new bracket and you reuse old bolts I believe.
