Here's a better link to the Toyota Owners website.

Most any good autoparts store can check for codes if there are any, have them check it and write down all the code exactly if they can't print them out for you, then come back and post them here and we'll see if they will help with the ABS diagnosis, sometimes the codes can be very helpful and sometimes they just sorta tell you what you already know, the "ABS isn't working correctly".

Pump and motor...$1290

Pump, Motor and accumulator assembly...$719

But it does appears you can get the entire assembly for around $1300+ to $1400, it's real confusing because if you buy all of them separately it around $2000 to $3000, but can buy the entire assembly for the $1400, I guess this is where the dealers make their money, charge you separately for the parts but use the entire assembly to do the repair.

that is interesting. so, for my 2007, this part appears to be a much better value since it includes all pieces? 47050-35031 - Actuator Assembly - 2006-2009 Toyota 4Runner | nashuatoyota

i was contemplating replacing my master (new or used) because of a diagnosed ABS module issue. i added the master to my cart because it includes the module, but for nearly the same cost it appears i could order the whole group.

just spoke to the parts dept., and they confirmed that i could get the entire group for $1190, or just the master group for $1181! $10 more gets much more valuable item, plus less labor cost in swapping over stuff. can also find the whole group unit used in the $400-$600 range, which i have to consider with a vehicle with 230k miles on it.

Yes that is the entire assembly for your 2007, the link I posted was for my 2004, so it's even less for yours, I would have a hard time not buying new at those prices, with a used one you never know how long it will last or possibly not even be any good, but in the case of it not being any good as long as you can get a refund at least you not out the $400-$600, but if it goes bad after a few months or a year or so you would have to spend another $400-$600, might as well have just gotten the new one!

But as I said I find it really crazy the price difference just buying the various parts compared to buying the entire assembly, I would expect it to be a little bit more just buying the different parts but not well over double the price!!

i believe the whole unit really is pretty easy for a shop to uninstall/install. maybe several firewall bolts, brake pedal pin connector, 4 brake lines. don't know if the computer needs resetting for the new unit. since it so important, wouldn't mind shop install.

i could probably break my old one down and sell the good parts. the ABS module has a failed sensor, but everything else is working well. can recover some money, maybe 50%. that would really help my decision making new vs used.

i have front brakes coming up this Fall, so could combine for one fluid exchange.
