November 2022

Made a trip out to see some sights in Arizona. Didn't take many photos on this trip which was unfortunate because the spots were epic, but sometimes that's the way it goes.

February 2023

Nguyen Works dual swing rear bumper went on. Definitely happy with the way it turned out. The bumper is super functional in that it allows me to carry my spare, extra fuel or water, has built in tables, and greatly improves the departure angle. On top of that it's lighter weight than most other offerings on the market, and it looks really good (although I know looks are subjective).

Looking great! Did you have to cut your factory bumper on the sides?

Thanks! Yes the factory bumper cover gets the bottom trimmed off all the way around (both sides and the back).

Agreed, but I may be biased haha. Nguyen Works and the Ascend Fabrications are the best two options for 4th Gens in my opinion. Just depends if you want the plate style look or tube style look.

Last week I added the Eimkeith PCK and lower link reinforcements. The pan hard correction definitely made a noticeable difference in the stability and tracking since lifting the 4Runner.

Unfortunately I can't take credit for the welds, those were done by Freel Good Performance. I'm admittedly a bit OCD with things being done correctly and nicely haha... So when quality welds are needed in visible areas that's one of the few things I'll have someone else handle.

Put my sliders on over the weekend. They're the Demello "Hybrid" sliders, but I changed up the ends of the main 2x2 square tubes. Demello does a straight cut and cap which I didn't like the look of, so I cut them at an angle I liked and had my friend weld in a cap. Kind of ridiculous haha, but I think it gave them a much cleaner look.

Nice rig.

I want to run a similar wheel/tire setup as yours without BMC if possible. Did you do have to do BMC?

Are your tire loads C rated or D Rated? How much did it affect MPG/acceleration with your v8?

Thank you! Yes I did a BMC along with flattened pinch weld and some plastic trimming. You'll have to do a BMC with basically any tire 33" or bigger from what I've seen, but wheel offset is a big factor as well.

Hard to say on the MPG because I never really tracked it before and after the tires. I seem to average 16 MPG on the freeway and 13 around town, but I can obviously get more or less if I adjust my driving style. Keep in mind I have front & rear bumpers, sliders, and roof rack so those all contribute to the fuel efficiency also.

My tires are E rated. I'll probably try and find something D rated next time, but I got a deal on these I couldn't refuse.

I feel you on the E rated tires. They are ROUGH. I'm going C rated when I go to 35s
