2005 V8 oil catch can help

Just purchased a 2005 limited V8 4x4. Noticed it had an oil catch can attached. Upon further investigation. Looks brand new not one drop of condensation or oil in it. Since I am new to 4 runners looking for help on whether or not to keep it. Have not found anything here on a catch can on a V8. Any help would be appreciated.

Lots of youtube on catch cans, not sure I've seen anything on V8 4Runner specifically, but try Googling it.

Thanks for the reply. Tried nothing specific to the V8 other then a couple of mentions stating the V8 does not need one. Just thought I would try here and see if anybody had one.

Okay after further reseach I have found that it was installed in between the CAI intake to a pcv valve intake on the passenger side of the engine. From what I have found on the internet and other instructional videos. It’s the wrong place to install. I will be removing and reconnecting the hoses properly. Just an fyi if anybody else is looking for answers. Will update with results when done.

Appreciate the pics. I am going to be removing it this weekend and might reinstall correctly at a later date.
