UPDATE: P0037 After New Exhaust - UGH - Are these the right exhaust parts?

UPDATE - POST INSTALL P0037 - Oxygen Sensor Heather Control Circuit Low (Bank 1, Sensor 2) - See new reply for info - Please help!

Hi everyone, I own a 2008 4Runner, V8, and live in New York. I primarily use the vehicle to plow my driveway in the winter, drive to work on bad winter days, and for the occasional summer trip or home depot wood hauling project. I've known for awhile there are significant exhaust issues, but I haven't invested the money since it keeps passing inspection (no check engine light, passes emissions tests) and I don't really care about the noise due to how little I use the vehicle. However, it's definitely getting worse, so I decided to at minimum investigate repair costs.

My normal mechanic, who is great, quoted 2-3 thousands of dollars to do the repair. I figured I'd bring it to a reputable monro muffler in town since they more so specialize in exhaust work. They inspected the exhaust for free today and after I overheard him making calls about part availability with no luck, he told me what I needed, but he could only get 1 of the 3 parts. He said he'd try more on Monday, but he was doubtful he'd be able to actually get the parts. I asked if he uses suppliers like Rock Auto (I see this name a lot on the forums) and he said they're not allowed to, they have to use their core vendors only. He somewhat quietly said if I buy the parts, they will install them since he can't get the parts and then let me take a picture of the monitor and told me what I needed.

Late preface: I really don't know much about this....

Four primary questions:
1. Based on the two attachments - did I add the right parts to my Rock Auto cart? One attachment is what I need, the other is my cart.
2. Is Eastern a fine brand to buy? It was one of only two brands I saw on Rock Auto, or should I be shopping elsewhere?
3. Are these allowable in NY, I think they are? The site is confusing about this.
4. Any rough estimate on hours of labor, and is there anything else I should proactively order or prepare for?

I'll of course bring the finalized cart back to the Monro manager before ordering, but I wanted your advice first on whether this is even a brand to go with and if I'm on the right track. If I can fix this all for roughly $1,000, I may do it for the peace of mind.

Thanks all!

Yea, so presumably the rear catalytic converter is going to be the most difficult to replace.

A couple of thoughts
- Is your muffler in good shape where they said they could re-use the muffler?

There are some gaskets between the different pipe fittings so you may need to make sure what you buy comes with them or you buy them separately. Similarly, there are special exhaust bolts many of these will use - if they're in good shape, you may be able to use them.

Depending on how bad it looks, most of the exhaust stuff is pretty simple. - its just pipes fitted together Sometimes the O2 sensors can be a pain to get out and replace, so you could have the shop just do the cat converter and O2 sensors and you could try to do the rest to save you some money.

I think with NY if you have a Cat converter and are passing emissions you are all set

Depends how long you want the exhaust to last. I replaced my tailpipe with aftermarket and it only lasted 3 years. If that's enough then go for it. BTW, that Y-pipe is pricey and seems to mainly fail at the flanges. You may be able to have an exhaust specialist cut out the flanges and weld the pipes together so you keep the OEM y-pipe. The rear one is mainly a resonator so just keeps the noise down a bit. An exhaust guy may be able to make just a pipe for you that lasts longer than the aftermarket ones if you don't care about extra sound.

POST INSTALL P0037 - Oxygen Sensor Heather Control Circuit Low (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

UPDATE

Well, the good news is all the parts came quickly and Monro Muffler only charged 1 hour of labor. We replaced everything with red circles in the attached pic (added in 7547 after the original post and talking with the manager at Monro Muffler).

New problem: After the install, the 4Runner IMMEDIATELY began showing P0037 - Oxygen Sensor Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 1, Sensor 2). I tried clearing it once with Techstream, but it immediately came back. I attached a bit of freeze frame data, no idea if it's the right info or not. The vehicle is at my normal mechanic for a rear blown brake line atm, so I only drove it about 3 miles once Monro was done with it.

Beyond frustrated, I can't win with the 4R lately, just replaced the intermediary steering shaft and left CV axle shaft last month too.

Any ideas on how to fix this P0037 code or what is causing it after the new exhaust install? Thank you in advance.

Its going to either be that youre not getting power to the O2 sensor - a wire rubbed through or you have a bad ground, or the sensor itself is bad

For a quick check to eliminate a bad sensor or wiring, swap sides of the sensor. If the code remains on the same side it's the wiring, if it changes, it's the sensor.
