An observation....

So I've never liked where the window/lock controls are on the Gen 4, they seem too low and not in an ergonomic place right in line with the arm rest. I happened to be looking at Gen 5 and those are really high on the door and also don't look comfy to operate. My wife's Sienna has good placement as has most other cars I've owned. Seems odd to me.

Ive had a 95 4r, 03 4r, 08 4r, driven my parents '18 4r. Also have had a 99 camry and we have a 2017 highlander. Its a little odd how much styling differences there are. Youd think thered be some consistency about ideal set up for things like this, or center console design etc etc. but I think its also that way with most other auto makers, otherwise you always feel like youre driving the same car.

Im okay with things out of the way. I have a much bigger issue when I accidentally hit them frequently

I was parked next to a 5th gen today and just noticed that same thing. Weird spot to put them. I’m ok with where they are on the 4th gen as it’s in a similar spot to my Scion. I guess I drive a number of different vehicles at my work so I’m always “searching” for the buttons anyways.

Seems to me the sun would reek havoc on the Gen 5 switches especially in the South. Leave a window open and rain would make a mess too.

I like the 4th gen location, its definitely out of the ordinary but my dog never steps on them and rolls the window down He's always rolling the window down in the wife's 2022 Highlander. If only I could teach him how to roll the window back up when he's done lol
