Question Suspension Refresh

Hello!

As the title says, it's come to that time where my '06 needs a suspension refresh. I installed new SPC UCAs and OME lift kit replacing both front and rear shocks. I opted to delay replacing other components i.e. lower control arms, sway bar bushings, end link bushings, etc since the dry desert has taken its toll on my rubber bushings.

So as I started down the rabbit hole to do a full refresh of all my bushings it have run into a lot of conflicting information and lack of information from manufacturers. I am looking to replace nearly everything with new or upgraded parts and wanted to get some input on what everything is using?

I planned on replacing the bushings in the majority of the stock components with Energy Suspension poly bushings, but I am more than open to other options. If anyone can suggest some good replacements or upgraded to get things riding like new or better again.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Look into SuperPro. Excellent (and preferable over Energy Suspension IMO) quality urethane bushings with proven reliability. I'm using them on my 2003 V8 4Runner and have been extremely happy with them. LCAs are SuperPro offset bushing, stock replacement LCAs and have been awesome. The offset allows you to move the front wheels further forward in the wheel well and gain some caster while making room for larger tires.

If you want to upgrade the rear UCA/LCAs, look into the MetalTech offering for those. I have them on my truck and they have been great.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I can only speak on the sway bar bushings from Energy. They are sweet, greatly improved feeling on those long freeway turns. Haven’t noticed any difference off-road with them either, stress tested them on a trail and noticed no difference in wheel travel/flex. Only PITA is you have to order them custom if you do front and rear as they don’t make a kit. But now have grease-able front/rear sway bar bushings.

Depending on your budget, some aftermarket end links are worth it too. I went with Overland Custom Designs Heim Joint Endlinks, adjustable and appear much more durable long-term.
