Bilstein 6112 fitment question

I bought a set of Bilstein 6112's pre-assembled with the 600lb (stock weight) Bilstein coils for my wife's 2016 4runner. We decided to sell the 2016 4Runner before I got a chance to install them and now it's too late to return them.

My question is this: Will those 6112's fit my 2004 sport edition? I'd love to use them on my 4th gen but I wasn't sure if they'd fit or if I'd have to modify them to get them to fit. Thanks for the help!

I’m only 99% sure but I believe the lower eyelet will not fit the 4th gen lower control arm without modifications. I looked into this a while back when I had an opportunity to buy a set of 6112’s off of a 5th gen. I think it uses a larger bolt and may be wider. I wish I knew the exact difference.

You need to either grind down or swap out the lower strut bushing from 5th gen to 4th gen to get it to fit

Correct. Simple grind with an angle grinder. Nothing too crazy. Will bolt on direct after. Been running this setup for a few years now.
