man... c'mon now.... you can't post stuff like that for me to see! Talk about an IFS wet dream... how much ground clearance is that thing going to have over an SAS setup?? I know the dirt lifestyles tacoma measured out something like 5 additional inches of clearance vs a solid axle setup in the center.. imagine another little bit via portals. .. sheesh!
Obviously we won't talk about the probably $15k setup just upfront.. but really can't wait to see how this thing does.

Hey Charles! I just ran into you on the TWC fb page. Glad to see this baby was bought by a good team. Hope she gets a podium. This should be fun to watch.

I'm guessing 3-5K per corner just for the portals? After looking at their site, 8 to 10K per corner.

My estimates were grossly understated
A couple of different companies make a portal, the first one I shared goes back a little ways and is based in Ukraine, that kit for all 4 corners will set you back near $15k alone with shipping. Impressive setup to be produced 100% inhouse, some entertaining videos to go along with it on their youtube channel.
The 74Weld Motorsports kits I stumbled on pricing as high as $25k for 4 corners for a jeep setup Maybe i'll buy 2 lottery tickets.....
In all seriousness though... holy cow that is cool, I still cant get over it! Can't wait to see this rig in the race! My question, just out of pure curiosity since you would have to be absolutely nuts to do this on a street rig, is regarding how these geared portals would do with regular street-use/highway speeds.
KOH produces high-speed section without a doubt, but nothing like a 70mph sustained hour long drive obviously.

74weld mentioned in their IG post that they are making portals for all 2nd/3rd gen Tacomas, 4th/5th gen 4runners, FJCs, GX470s etc etc. Definitely cool but holy cow are they expensive! Imagine running stock suspension with portal boxes and 35s

Can someone school me on Portals? Looks like a gear box for axles?

Pretty much, the main benefit being they give you a few more inches of ground clearance. In our case, looks like about 5". Basically like going from 32's to 42's without any clearance issues at the body.
Another benefit, if its considered that, is it increases your gearing.

They also reduce a bit of stress on the driveline since you have additional gear reduction at the wheel.
