I used the factory wiring for mine, and run it through the column control.

I'm looking to do something similar but also combine both the fog and DRL/turn signal housing. I want to move the DRL/turn to under the headlights with the popular trim strips. But then the lower DRL/turn housing will be just kind of chilling there.

Anything out there that combines both housings I can throw a fog light in? Not opposed to 3D printing something/modify heavily.

I got these a while ago and used an amber rock light from Diode Dynamics and their SS3 fog pod. I found them after seeing this thread and searching around.

03-05 4Runner Fog/Turn Signal Bezel for Diode Dynamics SS3 (Pair) → FuzedFab

What are the dimensions of those SS3 fog pods? Not looking to spend $300 on fogs. Seems like something like this may work?

Heh yea I get that. I knew I was buying above my need, and I've even forgotten to throw them on when the weather was perfect for it too. I will say Diode Dynamics was good to me with their customer service on multiple orders and their build quality on rock lights and fogs looks solid.

These specs are from their product install doc, and it appears to be slightly larger than the one you suggested.

.4" on all sides, I'm sure I can make that work. I might end up trying to modify the OE housing like OP did. I emailed SolidShift to see when they'll have theirs back in or if they could sell me the 3D print file. Really just tired of buying fog housings that leak lol

I know it's been a few months but how are you liking this setup? Do you get a hyper flash from using the rock light pods as your turn signals?

So I just did this install yesterday.

Before

After

Solidshift concepts 3d printed mount that I sanded and painted to match. Full transparency, I love how they look, but since you can't aim them the light output is much to low and im not a big fan.

ok, took some output shots. Really making me think about switching to the FuzeFab mount and diode dynamics pods....

Fogs off

Fogs on

Light output is way too low with zero room for adjustment unless I custom fab something up.

Yours turned out good! Perhaps you can trim the top and bottom of the housing for extra room to adjust the output angle?

I've had no issues with the turn signals (or fogs, I've just driven at night so infrequently with the need to use them). The biggest factor was that I swapped the 12-pin flasher module for an 8-pin unit from Diode Dynamics to accommodate for LED signals, which allowed me to swap in both the rock lights at front and LED bulbs in rear without hyperflash.

My project is technically "in progress" as I want to get the rock lights to run as DRLs to mimic the OEM function, but I haven't dug in more to find the best way to do that. I'm considering a switch panel but that is also a premium upgrade of sorts.

I was looking at trimming/shimming it to give more adjustment, but I caved and ordered a similar setup to what you are running.

Since I already have the 06+ headlights, I might run the wires to the turn signal bulb up to the headlight, but then wire the DRL to the Diode rock lights when I get mine.

Does that pod stick out past the bumper?

Looking from the top, the turn signal corner sticks out about .5" and the fog corner sticks out about .75". The housing is slightly recessed so it does appear to stick out more but not much beyond the profile of the bumper cover.
