Looks like the shaft unscrewed from the mount. Not the first one that has been reported…..and concerns me since mine were just installed recently.
Hopefully yours gets replaced quickly and under warranty.

Call them or take it to the shop you purchased and they will give you a new one. Bilstein has one of the best lifetime warranties around.

Looks broke to me. This happened to a buddy of mine last summer. Unfortunately they did not warranty his cause they said it broke outside of the 30 day warranty.

Bilstein has no customer service phone number so I had to go through their website to contact and have them call me or email me back we will see what happens. I will update when I get an answer. Thank you for the responses everyone

Shock is Off. It threads right back on the lower shock mount. It just unthreaded itself.

That's exactly what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna be going to Dobinsons within a few months so.

Have yet to hear a word back from Bilstein. I'm starting to lose faith in they're stellar customer service. Maybe that's why they don't have a phone number to contact and you have to contact them online in hopes that they get back to you. 🤬

Maybe this is a dumb question but how can that unthread when held in place at both ends?

The shock shaft itself is able to rotate. The outer body of the shock isn't actually attached to the shaft.
