Exclamation 2004 4wd v6 wont crank

This is a wild one. You turn the key and it will turn over but not start. No gas is what it seems like to me. I can unhook the battery and let it sit and hook it back and it cranks and runs perfect. Turn it off and goes back to turning over but not starting. Unhook battery and hook back up and starts. Seems to work every time this way. I have checked the fuses and relays. I have taken relays and switched them around and it does the same thing. I have tried different keys. same results. I took the throttle body off and cleaned it and still the same. It has been throwing the VSC lights for quite awhile but it ran for weeks with these on. Im at a loss. I have a cheap code reader and there are no codes thrown. Please help me to understand what is going on here. My rig is 2004 v6 4wd SR5. Thanks in advance

Are you sure your battery is good? Id consider a crank test at an auto store.

Ive had symptoms like that with a bad ground before

Not helpful I know, but sounds more electrical if you can unhook the battery and it fixes the issue temporarily

Most likely lost fuel pressure or ignition. Pull the intake boot and spray a bit of starter fluid or flammable brake clean into the throttle body. If it sputters or runs for a second then you have spark and you need to figure out why you don't have fuel. If nothing then most likely no spark which is tougher to track down.

Check your fuses and try and see if you can hear the fuel pump.
