How much could I sell my 09 Trail Edition for?
I have a 2009 Trail Edition with the rear diff lock and A-TRAC. It has 216,000 miles. I have done a number of mods to it including suspension, wheel/tires, headlights, tie rods, and other small things. It is a South Carolina owned rust-free truck. If I were to sell it how much should I list it for? I know the trail edition is somewhat rare, and I can't find any others for sale online. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Pictures are attached.

If it's in good condition like the pics look, then I'd say between 10-12k? It's still a lot of miles.

Yea I think in the 12-14 range. high miles, but assuming in good shape. Im not sure how much extra value is in 09 trail edition as collectors item vs the cost of putting in an aftermarket rear diff locker

If it has the V8 it would be worth more than if it has the V6, V8 4X4 4th Gen T4Rs sell for a premium.
Both are very good engines, but only some 4th Gens came with V8 and the V8 is not available in any other Genration T4Rs, combine that with 4x4 and they are scarce compared to V6 4X4s T4Rs.

Trail Editions weren't offered with the V8.
Looking on autotrader there is double the number of V6 vs V8 4th gens. I always thought it was closer to 50/50.

That's a steal of a deal, congrats.
From what I have seen in my areas, AZ and Southern Cali, $12k to $15k would be the norm for a '09 V6 4WD. The Trail Editions are rarer, so would make some sense for a slightly higher price. Only 4th gen 4Runner to have a stock rear locker.

I recently was in the market for a 4th gen in the Dallas area. I looked within a 300 mile radius. Granted this was a 45+ days ago and the market has shifted a bit, but something with similar mileage, options, engine, etc would be around $12-16K here. As always with car sales, the mods rarely add value unless it is a niche buyer looking for those. As someone who has in someway modified all 50+ cars that I have owned, it sucks. But, it's a reality.

they are rare
I have one just like yours with 165k on it. These are the rarest 4runners made I have read many times. They have all of the FJ goodies for off road. I know I would not take less than $13k+ if I were to sell. These are beast of machines. Good luck and nice looking 4R friend!

Unfortunately, for a 4Runner, the rarity doesn't really add value. The rarity would only apply to a hardcore 4Runner fan. (At least as of now... who knows, maybe down the road these things will become collectibles.) If i recall correctly, the 09 was a very very down year as it relates to production numbers. Something like 45K in 2008 and 2010, but <20K in 09. I thought the Urban runners had less produced than a trail, but I am not certain.

I personally think that price has to do with the area you live in, considering yours is eally nice and a rare factory trim level I woud say around $10-12k

Drive that up to my neck of the woods and you'll get 12k for all day. Start on the high side and go from there.

They have the e-locker and that's it, the shocks go as soon as you lift it and they aren't really anything special anyway.
Compared to the Limited which has the big brakes and all the interior comforts. I guess the "trail" badge is important to some people.

I thought about this some more. It's probably not worth more than $2500. Completely unrelated, I will give you $2501 for it. Interested?
