Any way to disable the moonroof?

Have to get a fairing for my roof rack because the noise is unbearable. I just want to disable it so me or My passengers don't try to tilt or open it.

Pull the fuse for the sun roof, or disconnect the switch & or motor.

How would I go about disconnecting the motor or switch? Would that involve removing the ceiling trim or an I just overthrowing this.
The fuse removes the power windows and I quite like being able to go through drive throughs.

I’m not sure how the switch comes out maybe check youtube to see if there any videos for removing the switch.

Do you have a stock roof rack? Neither of my 4runners make noise when my sunroofs are open.

Nope, I have a YAKIMA rack from the 90s that originally fit a GEO prism and has just been mounted to the stock one. The deflector goes over the sunroof, and I already know my passengers will try to open it and break the new fairing.

That might be the issue. You are using a rack not designed for a 4runner. Aerodynamics may be a part of it, lack of a foil in the front or not positioned properly might be part of it. A sunroof deflector might complicate things as it will deflect the air around the sunroof but might force it into the rack or they might just not work together.

I would take the rack off and see what happens. If the wind turbulence goes away then you have found your issue. If so then you have a decision to make, a functioning sunroof, a rack that may not be right for your 4runner, or just take it off when you're not using it.

Good luck.

The assembly simply pulls out, from there just unplug the wiring harness to the sunroof motor.
