Crooking steering wheel?!?!

So I was off-roading with a buddy today and I hit a pot hole pretty hard and now my steering wheel is off center still drives perfectly straight and I looked under the truck and everything looks fine nothing looks bent at all. I called my brother he said my steering rack probably skipped a couple teeth, said it could be fine for months maybe years or never give me a problem and I just have to re-align the steering wheel problem is how the hell do I do that without messing with the tire rod ends.
What I’m wondering is could someone either explain it to me or point to a specific how to video on YouTube.

Same Problem

Watching

I am hoping an alignment does the trick, but I don't want to do that all the time

I had the same thing happen when offroading, steering wheel was crooked afterwards. The rubber bushings in the front lower control arms can deflect enough to allow the alignment cam to flatten the tab on the frame and throw your alignment off on one side. I would check this first before doing anything with your steering rack. I've heard replacing your stock rubber bushings with harder poly bushings can help, and buy and weld on a gusset kit for the alignment tabs.

Happened to me a couple years ago, i realigned it myself in the garage.
Just adjusted the tierods, been fine since, have removed and replaced power steering fluid 2 times.

Came to same conclusion, skipped a tooth on the rack.
